When everyone looked back, it was the Ultimate Life Form, Shadow the hedgehog, who upon entering the sealed up Negative zone using Chaos Control, has used his Chaos Spear to shatter Mephiles' attack and his pocket dimension. Everyone is now standing back in reality, thanks to Shadow.

Mephiles, who didn't expect Shadow to show up, said:

~~ Shadow?! How did you-?!~~

Onimaru stood there quietly, glaring at Shadow while Charm, who's happy to see him, yelled:

"Shadow! Thank goodness you're here! I suppose Madame told you where I was, right?"

Shadow walked towards her as Onimaru moves away from them both. Shadow looks at Charm as he replied:

"Yes, she did. She even told me about your friend.. "Scales" was it? So why is he siding with Mephiles?"

She points at Mephiles and explains:

"Long story short, Mephiles is using Scales as his puppet to regain his powers. If we could defeat him, he might break his hold on Scales' mind."

Shadow stares at Mephiles as he floats down from the rock pile and responds:

"I see. In that case, I'll deal with Mephiles myself, while you try to keep your friend off my back."

After saying that, he creates another Chaos Spear in his hand and goes into combat position. Charm also goes into combat position and says:

"Roger. I'll cover you."

Mephiles, standing behind Onimaru, raises his hand over him and commands:

~~ Shadow the hedgehog is mine. Keep the girl out of my fight and do not fail me Onimaru.~~

Onimaru stood there in anger, clenching his fists tightly and replies:

"GRRRRR~!! I will not fail you master!!"

And so, two old enemies face off once again and a battle to save a friend has begun. But can Charm succeed? Or is Scales doomed to be Onimaru and Mephiles' puppet for good? Only time will tell.......
